Bobby Borchering (born October 25, 1990) is a third baseman who is currently a free agent. He is a switch hitter and throws right-handed.
In high school Borchering had a .494 batting average with 38 hits, 37 RBIs, 9 doubles and 13 home runs at 77 at-bats in his senior year.[1]
In the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft, Borchering was selected 16th overall by the Arizona Diamondbacks, making him the fifth position player chosen in the draft.[2]
Borchering was traded to the Houston Astros along with Marc Krauss for Chris Johnson on July 29, 2012.[3][4] In 2013, he returned to the lower levels of the minor leagues following missed time due to a "confidential matter".[5]
He signed with the Detroit Tigers as a minor league free agent in February 2015.[6] The Tigers released him in July.[7]
