Bobby King (born December 9, 1983) is an American professional mixed martial artist, currently signed to Bellator MMA where he competes in the Lightweight division.
Background[edit]
Starting his first fighting career in Hawaii, Bobby King would eventually move to Utah, where he opened and operates a gym, Koa Kingdom, in Salt Lake County.[1]
Mixed martial arts career[edit]
Early career[edit]
Starting out his MMA career fighting Amateur bouts in the Maui, Hawaii,[2][3] King made his professional debut in April 2016 on the Utah regional scene, spending the first 12 bouts fighting there, compiling a 9–3 record ther. His career there concluded with a fourth round armbar submission over UFC vet Steven Siler at Fierce FC: Will Power on February 27, 2021, winning the Fierce FC Lightweight Championship in the process.[4]
Bellator MMA[edit]
King made his Bellator debut against Nick Newell at Bellator 260 on June 11, 2021.[5] He won the fight via split decision.[6]
In his sophomore performance, King faced Alexander Shabliy on December 3, 2021 at Bellator 272. He lost the bout via uanimous decision.[7]
King faced undefeated Aviv Gozali at Bellator 274 on February 19, 2022. In an upset, he defeated Gozali via doctor stoppage at the end of the first round.[8]
Coming off the upset, King faced Keoni Diggs in a return to Hawaii at Bellator 279 on April 23, 2022. He won the close bout via split decision.[9]
King faced Gadzhi Rabadanov on July 22, 2022 at Bellator 283.[10] He lost the bout via unanimous decision.[11]
