Bolanicyon is a dubious genus of extinct hippomorph from the Toi Formation of Pakistan. The type, and currently only, species is Bolanicyon shahani, named by Malkani (2014).[1]
Discovery and naming
The holotype is MSM-1068-Western, consisting of a dentary with teeth, which was discovered in a coal mine at a depth of 500 metres (1,600 ft) by Gul Zaman Shahani.[citation needed]
Bolanicyon shahani was named and described by Malkani (2014).[1]
Classification
Bolanicyon was initially classified as a member of the Quettacyonidae.[1]
