Kilgai is a dubious genus of extinct protosirenid sea cow from the Chamalang Group of Pakistan. The type, and currently only, species is K. moolakharzani, named by Malkani (2019).[1]
Discovery and naming
The holotype is MSM-1065-K, a single tooth from the Shaheed Ghat shale of the Chamalang Group.[citation needed]
Kilgai moolakharzani was named and described by Malkani (2019).[1]
Classification
Kilgai was classified within Protosirenidae by Malkani (2019), and was considered to be closely related to Desmostylus.[citation needed]
