Bookit (company)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Bookit Oy is a company established in 2000 in order to extend the use of Short Message Service tools from one-way alerts and keyword-based two-way messaging towards fully interactive two-way business applications such as mobile check-in.[1] and text message payments.[2] See also mobile marketing and engagement marketing.[3]

While the company’s platform today involves more than 25 patent groups (79 granted and 50 pending),[4] Bookit's key platform capabilities enable mobile engagement, booking, and transactions. The company competes primarily with other mobile engagement providers (MEPs) [5][6]

First Airline Mobile Check-in through Text Message

BookIT technology enabled a range of early and evolving mobile marketing and mobile engagement applications such as: The first airline mobile check-in with a text message in partnership with Finnair;[7][8] (brought to market in partnership with Nokia); emergency communications with the Finnish Foreign Ministry[9] and disaster readiness [10] parcel delivery scheduling for Itella (Postal Services of Finland); secure mobile top-up of minutes and data for tele-operators such as DNA and GoMobile,[11] fraud interactive alerts and mobile payment for the European Payment Processor Nets,[12] and public health applications [13][14]

Core technological Advancements

The evolution of SMS enterprise messaging in the mid-1990s from a one-way alert into a two-way interactive platform involved numerous advances in cloud-based session management, “mediator” and authentication features from Bookit and others[15][16][17]
