bookitlive International is a software company that develops online booking software products (EBooking) for the Automotive and entertainment industries.
The company's products are used primarily in Australia but also abroad. bookitlive's products include single person bookings, group bookings and online sales for class packages, promotion and electronic product sales, digital products, employee scheduling, and session passes. Additionally, bookitlive interfaces with payment gateway providers SecurePay Australia and PayPal.
bookitlive is based in Melbourne, Victoria in Australia. Its offices are located in Blackburn. Some of its customers include the Jump NZ indoor trampoline parks, the Parliament of Victoria and the National Roads and Motorists Association Limited NRMA.
History
According to bookitlive, founder Craig Dickson conceived the idea after being frustrated about not being able to make an appointment booking to see his massage therapist on a weekend. He says there were no existing services available at the time. He began working with his existing business’s web developers to design a solution for his massage therapist and then realized that it could benefit any service-based business that had the same problems.
In 2010 bookitlive's international version was launched and has business subscribers in the United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, India, New Zealand, Norway, United States.
In 2011 bookitlive developed an original coupon validation process to cater for booking Daily Discounting Deal promotions such as Groupon, Jumponit, Spreets, Local Daily Deals, Ouffer, KBGdeals, Livingsocial, Catch of the Day, Scoopon, TravelZoo and Goodypass.
In 2013 bookitlive undertook research to develop a new, more efficient online booking process that was based on displaying availability instead of a traditional calendar approach.
This original idea is now known as an availability calendar and provides a more efficient way to book as only available times are used.
Functionality
bookitlive has four primary components:
- Booking payments
- Groups, for scheduling and managing group events and bookings
- Automatic email and SMS reminders
- Selling packages, products and discounted packages
