Boon-Chye Loh

Low Boon Chye is a Singapore based financial services and exchange executive who serves as the CEO of the Singapore Exchange. He currently also serves as an Executive and Non-Independent Director on the SGX Board.[1]

He was previously deputy president and head of global markets for Asia-Pacific for Bank of America-Merrill Lynch, beginning in December 2012.[2][3]

He also serves on the board of GIC, Singapore Economic Development Board and World Federation of Exchanges.

He is also Chairman of the Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics Advisory Board,[4] Co-Chair of the Council for Board Diversity and a Distinguished Fellow at the Institute of Banking & Finance Singapore.

Loh holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the National University of Singapore.

Background[edit]

Loh first began his career as an investment officer with the Monetary Authority of Singapore in 1989 and subsequently joined the Singapore branch of Morgan Guaranty Trust Co. of New York as a Fixed Income and Derivatives Executive in 1992.[5]

From 1995 to 2021, Loh was with the Deutsche Bank AG where he held the posts of Head of Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB) - Asia Pacific, Head of Global Markets - Asia (ex Japan) and Chief Executive of the Global Markets Division in Singapore.[6]
