Brad Heath
Brad Heath is an American author, entrepreneur, and horse-trailer designer. He is the founder of Double D Trailers and author of The Honest-to-Goodness Truth About Horse Trailers (2025). Heath holds U.S. Patent #9132762 for the SafeTack® Reverse Slant Load design and his trailer-safety advice has been quoted in equestrian publications and podcasts.[1][2][3][4]
Career
Heath founded Double D Trailers, a custom horse-trailer manufacturing company, in the late 1990s.[5] He designed the SafeTack® Reverse Slant Load system, which was awarded U.S. Patent #9132762 in 2015.[1]
His advice on horse-trailer safety and maintenance has been cited by equestrian publications. A 2025 article in Stable Management highlighted his pre-trip inspection and driving recommendations,[2] while a 2019 US Rider feature cited his trailer-cleaning methods.[3]
Heath has also appeared on equestrian podcasts. A 2025 episode of Horses in the Morning featured him discussing trailer maintenance and safety,[4] and the Equestrian Podcast profiled his design innovations, including the SafeTack rear tack room.[6]
