History[edit]
Early history (1982s–2000s)[edit]
Shiv Kumar's Brij Bhoomi (1982) is the first feature film made in Braj. In the year 1984, Jamuna Kinare was released which was created by famous Braj humorous poet Kaka Hathrasi and Dr. Laxminarayan Garg.[1]Brij Kau Birju (2000) is a notable movie in Braj film industry, made by Siddharth Nagar.[2]
Modern age (2000s–Present)[edit]
The 21st century brought new possibilities for Braj cinema. Here many Braj movies were released in DVD. After 2010, many films of Braj were released on the internet. In the year 2016, a meeting was organized by local artists in Mathura for the development of Braj Cinema. In the last few years, there has been a growth in film making in Braj.
