Haris Umar Khanis a noted Indian Production Designer and Art Director, who works in Hindi cinema. He is known for his gritty-realism in Nagesh Kukunoor's films like Lakshmi (2014), Dhanak (2015) and Mod (2011) and his Life Surreal Set's for Hollywood Feature Film Unfreedom aka Blemished Light Directed By Mr.Raj Amit Kumar.., [1]
Early Life and Background[edit]
Khan was Born on 30th July 1966 at Faizabad Uttar Pradesh India to a Middle class Orthodox Family. His Father was an employee of Municipality Transport Service as a Cashier. as his interest in Drawing in his early stage he chooses Art Direction for his Career and Joined Mr. Nitish Roy as a Intern and Gradually Promoted to Assistant Art Director. Umar Khan is the First Person to Join Bollywood Film Industry in His Family.

Khan started his career as a Production Manager for Films in the year 1985, and have done Feature Films like Inaam Dus Hazaar, Janam-Janam for Goel Screen Craft & Goel Cine Corporation, Feature Film Jeene Do, Feature Film Siyasat, Telefilm Bach Kar Kahan Jaoge Advertisement films Cadbury UK Etc. Khan has the privilege of working with some great Production Designer of their time in Bollywood as an associate to them some of the work with them are films like Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander , Chanakya a Television series of Vivid and Realistic Portrayal of Mauryan Indian period 324 B.C. and Paheli Directed Mr. Amol Palekar was official entry from India to Oscar awards. Umar Khan Design and Execute ....... Creative and well- thought Set's for Feature Films, TV Series, Ad Films and Video Albums with the help of His Team. Umar Khan had done from small assignments for Castrol AV till job as a Production Designer to major Commercial & Documentaries for Clients like Spot Film United Kingdom, Advertisement Film Cadbury Milk Tray Shot in India by Hollywood Director Mr. Tarsem, Reliance Capitol for Reliance Finance Series of Commercials, LIC, Domino Pizza etc. ... He has done more than 50 Documentaries some of his famous documentaries list include "ALANG SHIP WRECKING YARD" By Director Mr. Tarsem Singh, J. M. Baxi Shipping, Come Fly With Me for Jet Airways etc.. and the Job as a Set Design Consultant for NTV7 Kuala Lumpur Malaysia in coincidence with the 1998 Commonwealth games. Additionally khans Experiences at NTV7 Kuala Lumpur Malaysia having Sharpened His Talents as a Competent with a finger on the Pulse and with the respect of His Profession, Major Part of His Career He work for Ad films, Commercial and Albums In the Year 2011 Khan started working for Movies full time and enjoyed doing it ......while perhaps Infusing the Director vision with a touch of More real - World Grits in His Production Designing and Look of the Feature films. Although, Umar Khan didn't win an Award for Production Designing But His Work in Mod (film) 2011 Hindi Feature Film Directed By Mr. Nagesh Kukunoor was Noticed and Film was shortlisted for Best Art Direction Award for IIFA Awards, Thanks to the Larger than Life Surreal Set's for Hollywood Feature Film Unfreedom aka Blemished Light Directed By Mr.Raj Amit Kumar and Hindi Feature Film Lakshmi 2014 Directed By Mr. Nagesh Kukunoor[2] Which got some of the best reviews of His career and its only Umar Khans fourth film, 2015 has been good to Him Already... Khans Hindi Feature Film Dhanak aka Rainbow 2015 Directed By Mr. Nagesh Kukunoor was Nominated and won the Best film Award at Berlin International Film Festival.
