Branden Lee Oxley (born 23 April 2004) is a British racing driver of Thai descent. He currently competes in the GB3 Championship with Chris Dittmann Racing and Spanish F4 series with Drivex School, having also raced in the Euroformula Open Championship.

Personal life[edit]

Oxley was born in the Thai capital of Bangkok, but lives in Britain.[1] He competes using a British racing licence.

Career[edit]

Spanish Touring Cars[edit]

The Brit made his racecar debut in 2020, driving in the Radical SR1 class in the Nevada Cup at the Circuito Monteblanco.[2] He would go on to win two races in that championship, and Oxley also finished seventh in the Spanish TCR series with SPV Racing, racing together with Dutchman Mirco van Nostrum.[3]

F4 Spanish Championship[edit]

In 2021 Oxley made his first step into single-seaters, racing in the F4 Spanish Championship alongside fellow rookies Maksim Arkhangelskii, Lola Lovinfosse, Guilherme Oliveira and Noam Abramczyk with Drivex School.[4] His first race weekend did not provide success, as he failed to finish two of the three races held at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. Through the next two rounds Oxley's form improved, with a best finish of them being twelfth in race three at Navarra.[5] In the first race of round five, Oxley would finish eighth, scoring his first points in the series.

Euroformula Open Championship[edit]

Oxley made a one-off appearance in the Euroformula Open Championship, replacing Joshua Dürksen at Drivex.[6] The Brit surpassed expectations, finishing tenth, ninth and sixth in the three races at the Imola Circuit.[7][8][9] His final race was the most impressive, where, despite early contact with Zdeněk Chovanec, he managed to make the most overtakes by any driver in the race. He also outscored his teammate Enzo Scionti by nine points in that one event.

GB3 Championship[edit]

On 30 July 2021 Oxley announced that he would be competing in the newly-rebranded GB3 Championship for the rest of the season with Chris Dittmann Racing.[10]
