Brian Blad is an American politician and businessman serving as the mayor of Pocatello, Idaho.[1][2] Elected in 2009, Blad succeeded Roger Chase, the two-term incumbent. He won his third term on November 17, 2017.[3] Later, Brian Blad won a mayoral election against opponent David Worley on November 30, 2021.
Career
In addition to his career in local politics, Blad is the owner of a local business, Merlin's Insulation.[1] He was sworn into office as mayor in January 2010. He concurrently serves as chief executive officer of the city, where he manages day-to-day operations of the city's government.[4][5][6]
Before entering politics, Blad was a member of the executive board of the non-profit Blow-in-Blanket Contractor's Association. Blad is recognized internationally as an expert in the insulation industry. He spent 10 years throughout North America teaching and training companies the importance of energy-efficient building.[4]
Blad also hosts his own television show, Calling City Hall, on government access television.[4]
Personal life
Blad and his wife, Laura, have four children.[4]
