Brian Steel

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Early life[edit]

Brian Charles Steel was diagnosed with congenital fiber-type disproportion shortly after birth. This rare muscle disorder causes muscle weakness, particularly in the upper body, hips, and thighs, and may lead to breathing problems. Steel felt unfairly judged due to his physical condition and the way others treated him.

Work[edit]

Steel has been a professional photographer since 2009. His lyrical and sympathetic portraits often focus on individuals with disabilities, reflecting his own experiences. His work has been exhibited at notable galleries, including Mason Murer Fine Art and the Jennifer Schwartz Gallery in Atlanta, as well as the Savannah College of Art and Design and the Kiernan Gallery in Lexington, Virginia. Steel's photographs have also been featured on CNN.
