Brian Wayne Foster (born November 23, 1982) is an American internet personality, author, podcaster, actor, producer, and musician.
Career[edit]
Critical Role[edit]
Foster had been a longtime supporter and live-show emcee for Critical Role, and produced and wrote for multiple programs under the Critical Role Productions banner.
In 2016 he began hosting the Critical Role after-show Talks Machina, which continued until 2021.[2][3][4]
In 2018 Foster produced and hosted Between The Sheets, a streaming show in which he interviewed all of the Critical Role cast members, as well as: Amanda Palmer, Ashly Burch, Quyen Tran, Noelle Stevenson, Will Friedle, Chris Perkins, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, and Felicia Day.[5]
In 2019 Foster hosted Critical Role’s former program UnDeadwood, a four episode streamed show in which he was the Gamemaster for players Travis Willingham, Anjali Bhimani, Khary Payton, Marisha Ray, and Matthew Mercer.[6] The same year he was also a co-host, along with Willingham, of Critical Role’s former program Travis Willingham's Yeehaw Game Ranch.[7]
Blackened White[edit]
Blackened White is a book authored by Foster in 2012 and published through CreateSpace. The book is “a collection of poems, essays, and short stories“ and has been well reviewed (holding a 4.7 of 5 star rating on Amazon and a 4.10 of 5 rating on Goodreads).[8][9]
The Blackened White[edit]
The Blackened White is a podcast created and hosted by Foster. The inaugural episode, “Nick vs. Osteen” offered a conversation between Foster and Nick Stanley, a man who lost his job following a short video Stanley had created in which he posed with Joel Osteen, insulted Osteen, and posted the video to TikTok.[10][11]
The Wild Years[edit]
A singer-songwriter, Foster, released his debut album Odessa as Brian W. Foster. The EP contains four tracks. Years later in 2020, during the height of the Covid pandemic, Foster reformed his musical efforts as “The Wild Years”, releasing his first single, a cover of Radio Nowhere by Bruce Springsteen, with Ashley Johnson providing accompanying vocals.[12][13][14]
Twitch[edit]
In 2021 Foster began his own live stream on Twitch, “Las Vegas 2069”; a variety show in which Foster interacts with his chat room while watching content on Amazon, playing video games, and commenting on pop culture, with a special emphasis on revealing issues surrounding abuse and abusers within the Christian Church. His stream is sponsored by Alienware.[15]
Personal life[edit]
In 2012, Foster began a relationship with American actress Ashley Johnson. They announced their engagement in December 2018.[16]
