Helvijs Saukants (born February 14, 2001).[1][better source needed] better known as broky, is a Latvian professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player for FaZe Clan. Broky was named the MVP of IEM Katowice 2022.[2] and in the 2022 BLAST Premier Fall Final by HLTV[3]
Career[edit]
Broky began playing competitive CS:GO in 2018. Before he was signed to any major team, he played in pro ladders such as ESEA and FACEIT Pro League. In the beginning of 2019, broky signed with Epsilon Esports.
During broky's time on Epsilon, he had been reportedly practicing with the roster of FaZe Clan alongside an unknown player named 'dickb0mb', who was rumored to be coldzera by many people. He would be one of two players replacing GuardiaN and NEO.[4]
On September 26th, 2019, one day after coldzera was transferred to FaZe Clan from MIBR, broky joined FaZe Clan[5] and would be playing his first tournament with FaZe at ESL One New York 2019. They would fall short in Group Stage to Evil Geniuses and would be eliminated by OpTic Gaming in the Elimination Stage, placing with a 7-8th finish[6]
During 2022, FaZe Clan would have one of their best years in Counter Strike, winning IEM Katowice 2022 against G2 Esports[2], ESL Pro League Season 15 against ENCE Esports[7], and IEM Cologne 2022 against Natus Vincere[8]
In 2023, FaZe Clan would finish their Intel Grand Slam at ESL Pro League Season 17, winning $1,000,000 with a 3-1 victory against Cloud9.[9]
Broky won his first ever major championship in his whole career, being the 2022 PGL Antwerp Major.
