Brook McKenzie
Brook McKenzie is an American addiction counselor, author, and healthcare executive. He is the chief executive officer of Burning Tree Programs, a long-term residential addiction treatment organization headquartered in Texas.[1] McKenzie has been featured as an addiction and recovery expert in national media outlets including HuffPost, U.S. News & World Report, and the Dr. Phil television program.[2]
Career
McKenzie is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) and certified interventionist.[3] He began his career in addiction treatment at New Method Wellness in California, where he served as Director of Clinical Outreach.[3] In 2021, he joined Burning Tree Programs as Chief Operating Officer and was later named Chief Executive Officer.[4]
McKenzie has contributed articles on addiction, mental health, and recovery to U.S. News & World Report, writing on topics including the family dynamics of addiction, co-dependency, and meditation for anxiety.[5][6]
He has appeared as an expert guest on the syndicated television program Dr. Phil, including the episode "Explosive Anger and Addiction" which aired on October 15, 2019.[2][7]
