Bryce Cleveland is an American businessman, best known for being the founder and chief executive officer of Scalpa (formerly Scalp Aesthetics), a company that offers cosmetological products and learning courses.
Early life[edit]
Cleveland grew up in Rochester, New York,[2] and attended Irondequoit High School.[1] He was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) at a young age, which made his high school education difficult.[2] Cleveland eventually dropped out at age sixteen to pursue a career in entrepreneurship.[2][3]
Career[edit]
In 2013, Cleveland opened the first Scalp Aesthetics shop in downtown Rochester, which offered scalp micropigmentation services to people suffering from hair loss.[1] By 2015, he had opened franchises in Atlanta, New York City, Miami, Las Vegas, Mexico City, Toronto and Edmonton.[1] Cleveland's company, now known as Scalpa, has grown to become the largest product and online learning program for entrepreneurs in the cosmetic industry in the world as of 2020.[4] Some of the cosmetological procedures the company sells and teaches include collagen induction therapy and microblading.[5] The company has pioneered online learning in the cosmetic industry, allowing people to work as beauty professionals without having to resort to traditional education.[5] As of April 2020, over 35,000 people have launched their careers through the company's learning courses.[6][7] Scalpa's business model has been considered unprecedented in the cosmetics industry,[5] as it educates entrepreneurs and then provides them with the products they need to perform their own procedures.[3]
