Budapest Baja Regatta
Since 1989 the Budapest Baja Regatta is the longest organized nonstop rowing race. It is held every year in August, organized by the Hungarian Rowing Association. It starts from Budapest, and along the course of the Danube, lasts until Baja, which is roughly 165 km (100 miles). The participants have to complete the distance within the deadline or they will be eliminated and cut out of the competition. The Budapest Baja Regatta doesn’t require any qualifications; everyone can join by applying in time and by paying a small fee. The record for the fastest skiff completion is held by Matthias Auer, with a time of 10 hours and 2 minutes. The record for the fastest completion is held by a rowing team, with a time of 8 hours and 52 minutes.
