Bulgaria - Germany is a football match that took place on July 10, 1994, at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, United States of America. This is the third quarter-final meeting of the 1994 FIFA World Cup. Bulgaria reached the quarter-finals with one loss in the group stage to Nigeria, while Germany reached this stage of the competition without losing a match. In the round of 16 match against Mexico, defender Emil Kremenliev was suspended after a second yellow card in the second half, which removed him from Bulgaria's squad for the quarter-final against Germany. One of the main figures in Germany's squad, midfielder Stefan Effenberg, is not taking part in the knockout phase of the tournament because he gave the middle finger to his country's fans after being substituted in the second half of the third group stage match against South Korea.
