Buljit Buragohain
Dr. Buljit Buragohain (Assamese: ড° বুলজিৎ বুঢ়াগোহাঁই) is a young scholar and writer from Assam[1] and dean of the Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology, Guwahati.[2]
Early life
Buljit Buragohain was born on March 1, 1978 in Dhemaji, Assam. His parents, Nomal Buragohain and Late Saruj Dihingia, are teachers. He passed his HSLC from Dhemaji H.S.School (1993), H.S. from Dhemaji College (1995). He then did his B.E.(Mechanical Engineering) from Jorhat Engineering College (2000), M.Tech.(Energy Technology) from Tezpur University (2002) and Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati (2011).[3] His PhD was on “Thermodynamic Optimization of Biomass Gasification”.[4]

Career
Buragohain started his career as an Assistant professor at Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology, Guwahati and as a regular columnist of various daily newspapers.[5] In most of the online communities of Assamese people residing at various parts of the world, he is informing about the positive developments of Assam on a regular basis from the year 2000. He has delivered lectures at more than 50 career counselling programmes as a guest speaker in schools and colleges in various places of Assam. He serves the youth of Assam by answering their queries and giving free guidance on career related matters over phone every Saturday from 6-9pm. He has taken part in different career related programs in different TV Channels and AIR Guwahati.[6]
