Overview[edit]
Tom Rossi and Kevin Finn developed Buzzsprout as a podcast hosting service.[3][4] The company is based in Florida, USA and launched the service on September 1, 2009. The service helps the user to list their shows on various podcast directories such as Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, & Spotify; while also allows web analytics to track the progress.[5][6] Buzzsprout offers both free and paid account on the platform, available for desktop or mobile device.
Business Model[edit]
As of 2020, Buzzsprout has hosted over 1 million podcast episodes, nearly 3.5% of all publicly-accessible RSS-based podcasts.[7] It has launched over 100,000 podcasts. It also has a WordPress plugin for podcasting. Buzzsprout has launched an Affiliate Marketplace to connect podcasters with brands that are attempting to gain exposure via podcasts, while making it easier for podcasters to monetize their programming.[8]
