On October 1992, BCI started their initial broadcast on UHF 68 from Antipolo City with a sampling of its American-based programming, (mostly infotainment shows and talk programs) which were at the time not seen anywhere on local television, but are considered US cable programming staples. It was a paid UHF station in the past.
It was the first UHF station to introduce subscription TV, wherein viewers pay a monthly fee to unscramble its signals. The main attraction for its service at the time is the flexibility of the viewer to set up the decoder and the accompanying outdoor antenna used to receive the signal. At that time, cable television was just making a revival in a big way through Sky Cable.
On January 1993, their regular encrypted TV service of Channel 68 started on the said date. But however, 6 months after, BCI discontinued their initial broadcast due to a fierce competition from Sky Cable.[citation needed] Their station is been inactive for over 19 years now.
1 Continued broadcast on cable TV from 1 September 2014 to 21 March 2015. 2 DTT only.
