Glam Philippines Incorporated (Glam Ph) is a glamour company[1] in the Philippines. Being a fusion company, it housed the services[2] of publication, event organizing, fashion design, fashion styling, professional make-up, photography, and digital media. In January 2010, Glam Ph announced the launch of Glam Magazine, whose publication is run by Multimedia Arts and Concepts Inc.[3] It was set for release in the second quarter of 2011, both online and in print. Since partnering with Fabtrix promotions in 2009 for the celebrity fashion show, Hot in November[4], whose proceeds went to charity, Glam Ph confirmed its intention to make it an annual charitable event, starting with the GLAM! celebrity fashion show in November 2010.
History
Glam Philippines was established in 2009,[5] Its concept was originally set as an events company[6]; however, due to its clientele in the fashion industry, the company began incorporating separate services from the industry, forming the core business of Glam Ph.
Features
Aside from holding client-specified events and contracted services, Glam Ph has been holding open photo shoots[7] to the public since September 2009. Each shoot had themes that highlighted the participation of ordinary people receiving star treatment. This paved[8] the way for the Glam, I am project.
Charitable Advocacy
On November 27, 2010, Glam Philippines held a celebrity fashion show for a cause entitled GLAM! A sexy and glamorous season.[9][10][11] It featured several local artists, most notably Jacq Yu and Lara Morena. International supermodel Andrew Philip[12] and Yashica Vir also participated. The final set featured the corsets and sexy ensembles of UK-based designer Jerry Ocampo. The proceeds of the event went to the Handicapped Center of Lourdes, located within the Caritas compound. In a later interview, Glam Philippines confirmed that charitable events would be held annually as a form of giving back to the community, as the projects they undertake are perceived as blessings.[13]
