Byung-Cheol Min (born 7 October 1981) is a Korean roboticist, and an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer and Information Technology at Purdue University.

Education and Career[edit]

Min earned his bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering and master's degree in Electronics and Radio Engineering with a specialization in Automatic Control from Kyung Hee University in 2008 and 2010, and a Ph.D. degree in Technology with a specialization in Robotics from Purdue University in 2014. He completed further postdoctoral research at the Robotics Institute of Carnegie Mellon University under M. Bernadine Dias and Aaron Steinfeld..[1] Min became an Assistant Professor at Purdue University in 2015, and was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure[2] in 2020. Min also founded the Smart Machine and Assistive Robotics Technology (SMART) Lab at Purdue University in 2015.

Research[edit]

Min's research areas include multi-robot systems, human-robot interaction, and robot design & control, with applications in field robotics and assistive technology and robotics. His research has been published in IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics[3], IEEE Transactions on IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics: Systems[4], and Journal of Field Robotics[5]
