Cacani (stylized as CACANi), abbreviation for "Computer Assisted Cel Animation", is a 2D vector animation system that automatically generates interstitial frames, or inbetween frames, from key frames. As of CACANi 2.0, the ability to draw raster graphics was added.[1]
CACANi was developed by Computational Arts Group (CAG) in Nanyang Technological University of Singapore in collaboration with Anime International Company (AIC).[2]
History
In December 2014, CACANi 1.0 was launched. Version 1.2 came out in January 2016, and version 1.3 in November 2016.
On May 24, 2019, CACANi 2.0 was released.

- Strike Witches: Road to Berlin trailer, released in 2018, animated by David Production.[3] The film is slated for release in 2020.
