CIB pdf brewer is a computer programme made by the company CIB software GmbH that allows to create, edit and combine PDF documents using any application with a windows operating system owning a print menu.
Features[edit]
The programme allows the conversion of a document into a PDF format without having to open another application simply by being installed as a print driver and adding it to the function toolbar; for Microsoft Office starting with Microsoft Office 2007; or by including it into the start or text menu. The license-free software version offers functions like PDF file size optimisation, combining several PDF documents as well as re-editing without any loss of data using Microsoft Word and the output format e.pdf. Further features of the software are the inclusion of bookmarks and digital watermarks, a function for stationary, manual settings for image resolution and compression, supports the output format PDF/A for long-term document archiving and the format PDF/UA for creating accesible PDF documents for visually impaired people. The generation of electronic invoices according to the ZUGFeRD standard is supported starting at version 2.7.1. The CIB pdf brewer Pro&Form&Markup allows the conversion of Word documents into PDF forms. With the version 2.6.47 all versions of the CIB pdf brewer hold the Windows 7 certification of Microsoft (WHQL).

With more that 1.5 Mio. licenses and according to the supplier, the pdf tool is put into use within the corporate field (banks, insurances, regional police stations, public administations and industrial companies) as well as for private use.

In the very beginning the CIB pdf brewer has been part of the document lifecycle management software solution CIB CoMod. Starting in 2003 because of a rising demand on the market for pdf converter that may be integrated into Microsoft-Office applications the products has been singled out and marketed and developed apart from the original solution. The initial release in 2003 of the print driver with version 1.0 (32 bit) was made for operating systems Windws NT4, 2000, XP, server 2003. The current version exists in 32 bit and 64 bit and holds the Windows certification 7/8/10 of Microsoft.
