Cachengue also known as RKT, cumbiatón, or cumbia turra, is a subgenre of cumbia that originated in Argentina in the early 2010s, which, fuses the Argentine cumbia with the reggaeton. Cachengue is also considered to be the set of danceable musical genres of Argentine culture, which includes different genres of cumbia, cuarteto, reggaeton and its derivatives.

Most important groups or singers[edit]

In the begginings of Cachengue, Los Wachiturros, Los Rompediskotekas, La Champions Liga, Los Nota Lokos, Las Wachiturras, Nene Malo, Tu Papá, Estilo Turro, Las Culisueltas, Los Rompediskotekas and Los Reyes del Turreo were the ones that started the movement.[1]

Also, between the years 2020-2021, artists such as L-Gante, Perro Primo, Kaleb Di Masi, El Noba, El Tirri, among others , they would join the cachengue; some with characteristic sound fusions of each of the artists.

The Argentinian DJ, Fer Palacio was beginning to package well-known reggaeton songs, remixing them to turn them into his own version in his "Previa y Cachengue" which contains cachengue with influences from electronic music reaching millions of views through YouTube. Continuing with producers like Bizarrap, Big One, Taiu, Tatool, DJ Alex, DJ Tao, Alan Gomez, Papu DJ, DT.Bilardo, Alan Mendoza DJ from Mexico among others; that would begin to adapt to this characteristic sound of Argentina.
