Caffè Moak is an Italian Joint-stock company that produces roasted coffee, founded in 1967, with headquarters in Modica, in the Free municipal consortium of Ragusa (Sicily).[1][2]

History[edit]

Founded in 1967 by Giovanni Spadola, as a small company for the roasted and distribution of coffee, later it expanded the distribution area, to become a joint stock company in 2005.[3] Regarding the name of the company, Spadola took the toponym of the Arab domination in Sicily, Mohac (Modica) and changed it to Moak.[4][5]

Initiatives[edit]

Since 2002, the company has annually promoted a national narrative contest, Caffé Letterario, to which the photography and visual communication contests have been added. The initiative pays tribute annually to a prominent representative of literature around the world. In 2020, for example, the graphic icon of the event was Tonino Guerra.[6]
