Calafrio is the seventh full-length studio album from American alternative rock band Stroke 9. The band announced the album on their website on November 14, 2019, to be released the following January.[1] On the same day, they announced via their social media that the first single and title track "Calafrio" would debut along with a music video on December 6.[2]
The album title and artwork are inspired by the band's home state of California. Lead singer Luke Esterkyn described the album's concept and title as "a portmanteau of everything we wanted to do with this record... You have the southern heat with 'cala,' and 'frio' takes care of the NorCal chill."[3]
