Marcale Jenkins, better known by his stage name Calez, is an American rapper and record producer from Chicago, Illinois. Musical career
2011-2015: Various mixtapes
In 2012, Calez began transitioning from record producing to rapping when he released, "Kid with Raps." The debut mixtape received highly positive reviews from critics and was produced by several prominent producers in the music industry, including Flosstradamus and Mike Zombie.[2] Soon after, in 2014, he self-released and self-produced his own album entitled "Ceito."
Following additional acclaim, Calez was offered two major record deals from major labels, both of which he turned down.[3] Calez, like many of his associated acts in Chicago, remains independent.
2016-present
On July 3, 2016, Calez made his radio debut with his hit song, "312." The song garnered a great amount of attention in Chicago, and is set to be released commercially in his upcoming album, "Baby." [4]
Calez released "Still Good" on August 22. The song received high critical acclaim, peaking at #18 on HNHH and receiving over a million plays worldwide within a month of release.
