California Sun (publication)
The California Sun is a media company that publishes a daily email newsletter with curated stories about current events and culture in California.[1][2]

The California Sun was founded in November 2017
by Mike McPhate, a former reporter and editor at the New York Times and Washington Post. It launched under the name Golden Stater, and changed to the California Sun after a trademark challenge.
It is edited by Andrew Zahler, an editor and web producer most recently from the New York Times.
Products[edit]
The California Sun's main product is a daily newsletter delivered via email. It also regularly publishes original stories on topics including culture, travel, and California history.
