Cameron Andrew Moore is an Australian judge of the Federal Court of Australia, serving since 18 December 2024.[1] His appointment, alongside Nicholas Owens SC, was announced by the Commonwealth Attorney-General on 6 December 2024.[2]
Early life and education
Moore graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Arts in 1989 and a Bachelor of Laws (First-Class Honours) in 1991.[1]
Legal career
Moore was admitted as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1993, called to the New South Wales Bar in 1998 and appointed Senior Counsel in 2011.[2] Prior to his appointment he practised across commercial litigation including competition and consumer law, class actions and appeals.[2][3]
Judicial career
The Attorney-General announced Justice Moore's appointment on 6 December 2024, with his commission commencing on 18 December 2024 in the Sydney Registry.[2][4] A ceremonial sitting of a Full Court to welcome Moore was held on 26 February 2025, with the transcript published by the Court.[5]
