Carlo Diego D'Andrea (born November 13, 1978, in Viareggio, Tuscany, Italy) is an Italian corporate lawyer with practice mainly in China and Europe. D'Andrea is currently a Managing partner and attorney of the D’Andrea & Partners law firm based in Shanghai.[1] He is the national Vice President of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, a non-profit organization that represents companies from the European Union operating in China.[2][3][4]

Biography[edit]

D’Andrea received a law degree in 2004 from the University of Teramo (Italian: Università degli Studi di Teramo). Then, he was granted in 2005 a Master post lauream by the Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali Guido Carli better known as LUISS. In the same year, D’Andrea moved to China where he received a Chinese language diploma at Nanjing University in China in 2007.[5] He is married and lives in Shanghai and spends time in Russia and Italy.

Career[edit]

Since May 2017, D’Andrea is Chairman of the board, Shangai chapter of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China and National Vice President. D’Andrea lectures at Nanjing University’s law school since 2016. He was a visiting scholar at the Koguan Law School of Shanghai Jiao Tong University where he taught Italian civil and commercial law in 2015. From August 2013, D’Andrea is the Managing partner of D’Andrea & Partners in charge of the development and operations of at the firm's headquarters in Shanghai and its branches. D’Andrea speaks at events[6][7] contributes to business guides on topics about China including free trade zone,[8] intellectual property right, and foreign direct investment. He also consults[9][10][11] From September 2009 to September 2013, he was managing partner of a law firm's offices in Shanghai, Nanjing for the region of Greater China. He held several executive positions at the local Shangai[12] and Nanjing chapters of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China from 2012 to 2014,[5] China Italy Chamber of Commerce and Accademia Italiana della Cucina Delegazione Shanghai.[13]
