Biography and Education

Carlos Alberto Lobo earned his PhD in philosophy from EHESS in Paris in 1998 under the supervision of philosopher Jacques Derrida.. His dissertation, titled Le Phénoménologue et ses exemples : étude sur le rôle de l'exemple dans la constitution de la méthode et l'ouverture du champ de la phénoménologie husserlienne, was later published by Hermann in 2011.

He is currently a Professeur de Chaire Supérieure at Lycée Dumont d'Urville in Toulon since 2019. He is an associate researcher at the Centre Gilles Gaston Granger (UMR 7304) of the CNRS at Aix-Marseille University, at the Husserl Archives (UMR 8547) of the ENS, and at the Institut des sciences de la Communication (ISCC, UMR 7772) of Sorbonne Université. He also serves as an associate professor at the Centro de Filosofia das Ciencias at the University of Lisbon since 2013 and as Program Director at the Collège International de Philosophie (Paris) since 2013.
