Cashmere Nicole Carillo, known professionally as Cashmere Nicole, is an American entrepreneur and founder of the beauty brand, Beauty Bakerie.

Nicole is a single mother and breast cancer survivor. She launched her company in 2011 with the goal of making a vegan, cruelty-free beauty brand catering to women of color.[1]

Biography[edit]

Nicole was raised in South bend, Indiana. She became pregnant with her daughter, Jasmyn, at the age of 16. Nicole became a nurse after college graduation. She began developing her beauty products while still working as a nurse and officially launched her company, Beauty Bakerie, in 2011.[2][3]

In 2012, Nicole was diagnosed with breast cancer. This influenced her decision to focus on creating cruelty-free, nontoxic beauty products.[2] She underwent a double mastectomy in 2014 when the cancer returned.[3]

Beauty Bakerie products are sold in over 100 countries and have been used and promoted by Cardi B, Tati Westbrook, Jacki Aina, and Kehlani. In 2014, Nicole's story was featured on Beyonce's website, Beyonce.com, as part of the site's Breast Cancer Awareness Month initiative.[4][5]

In October 2017, Unilever Ventures invested US$3,000,000 into Nicole's Company.[2][5] As of 2017, Nicole is one of only a few African American women to have raised $1 million in venture capital for their companies.[4]

Nicole founded Sugar Homes, a 501(c)(3) that donates food, clothing, and money to orphanages around the world. To date, Sugar Homes has donated over US$110,000.[6]
