Cassidy Lynn Campbell is a transgender YouTube personality. She rose to national attention when at just sixteen years old she was crowned homecoming queen at Marina High School in Huntington Beach, California.[1] A first for the school to have an open transgender woman be crowned homecoming queen; she was accepted by the majority of the student body and the general public. Despite this feat, Campbell was met with controversy from a few male peers that are transphobic; subsequently leading Cassidy to post a YouTube video of her crying, which was later removed.[2]
In May 2014, Campbell was interviewed by TIME magazine and filmed a short documentary segment for them, speaking about her own experiences as a transgender girl and her Homecoming coronation.
In June 2015, Campbell deleted her YouTube channel along with her other social media accounts such as Facebook and Instagram.
