Castle in Time is a hybrid independent orchestra. It is located in Tel Aviv, Israel. It contains classical and electronic instruments and performs original compositions.

Biography[edit]

The orchestra was formed in 2013 by Matan Daskal (Artistic director, composer, conductor) [1], Shalev Ne'eman (Artistic director, composer, percussionist), and Tal Donner (CEO). It operates under the NPO Felicja Blumental Music Center [2], and supported by the Ministry of Education (Israel). It performed in numerous festivals around the world, among them the Israel Festival [3], Israel Museum, Design Museum Holon, TLV Jazz Festival, Ophir Award, PechaKucha, East-West Music and Dance Encounter in Bangalore [4] [5], and Global Isai Festival (India)[6]. It has collaborated with Trilok Gurtu[7], Israel Chamber Orchestra[8], Tomer Heymann, Aya Ben Ron, and broadcasted in main radio stations such as Galgalatz, Kan 11, i24 News and more. It's debut album was released in 2018 [9].

The musicians[edit]

The orchestra is a modular group of 25 performers playing woodwinds, brass, strings, electric guitars, bass guitar, drum set, percussions, water, synthesizers, harp, singers working with analog effects, a computer player, and a conductor. The orchestra members take an integral part in the creation processes and compositions [10]
