The Centerton Fire Company[1] is a company under Pittsgrove Township's District 3 Board of Fire Commissioners that provides fire protection to the residents of Pittsgrove Township District 3, including Olivet, Centerton, Palatine, and Upper Neck. CFC hosts 15 volunteer members, including fire fighting, and non-firefighting personnel. Centerton Fire Company is located on Dealtown Road in Pittsgrove Township. The Fire Company hosts an executive board and is ruled by a constitution and bylaws, with the Chief in charge of fire protection duties. All positions within the department are voted on by the department at large.
Organization[edit]
Centerton Fire Company was organized August 1st, 1966, and was in a response to a increase of property loss from fire in the area around that time. Only 23 years earlier 2 firefighters would die in a blaze just down the street from where the firehouse now stands. [2] CFC current building was built in 1967 and the first fire truck was stored in the first Fire Chief's barn. In 1982 a second bay was added onto the building.

All firefighters are trained in the Salem County Fire Academy.[3]
