Zaprešić Volunteer Fire Department (Croatian: Dobrovoljno vatrogasno društvo Zaprešić) is a volunteer firefighting department from Zaprešić, Croatia.

History[edit]

The first firefighting society in Zaprešić was founded somewhere in February 1901. Historian Stjepan Laljak claims that after certain fire in 1898 caused some 40 residents of Zaprešić to lose their homes and their livelihood, Zaprešić municipal authorities decided to form a proper local fire brigade.[1]

This local fire brigade had their first intervention in neighbouring village of Pušća in July 1902, after a fire broke out on local trader's house, where they intervened successfully.[1]
