Central Prison, Ambala is situated near the Civil Lines area in Ambala City. It has more than fifty total acres and an authorized capacity of 1228 prisoners.[1] The prison is known for its radio station pilot program, which launched early in 2021.[2][3]
History[edit]
It was erected by the Government in 1872 as Sub Jail. Further this prison was extended into District Jail in 1930 and Central Jail in 1947.[citation needed]
