Salem Central Prison is located in Hasthampatti, Salem district, India and its authorized to accommodate [1]. . This is also one of the oldest prison built in 1862 Annex jail also built in 1934. Salem Central jail has the capacity to handle 1431 in house prisoners, and has an area of about 113.19 acres (0.4581 km2) .
The jail designed in circular shape with a centripetal arrangement as the entire cells center towards a point.
