Central and Western District St. Anthony's School (Chinese: 中西區聖安多尼學校; abbr: "CWSA"; not to be confused with St. Anthony's School) is a Catholic primary school located in Sheung Wan, Hong Kong. The school was founded by the Salesians[2] in 1963 to serve female students in Western District as St. Anthony's School (PM division). It moved to the current campus in 2000 and renamed as Central and Western District St. Anthony's School.
History[edit]
St. Anthony's School (PM division) (1963-2000)[edit]
In 1963, the school was founded by the Salesians in 9A Pok Fu Lam Road, Shek Tong Tsui. The aim of the school was to provide proper education for female students living in the Western District as they needed to do housework or take care of their siblings in the morning. Therefore, the school was a PM girl's school which provided them education in the afternoon. The school developed, grew and gained support from people in the area.[3]
Central and Western District St. Anthony's School (2000- )[edit]
On 10 August 2000, the school moved to the current location (2 Hospital Road, Sheung Wan) and renamed Central and Western District St. Anthony's School. The school started to convert into a full-time co-educational school and completed in 2006 with all levels having both male and female students. The school achieved different awards in inter-school competitions since then. [4]
