Cesare Catania is an Italian artist, painter, sculptor and civil engineer. He is mostly known for his work The Heart of the Earth - B Version shown in the 2018 Biennal art of Saint Paul de Vence[1] and "The Heart of the Earth - A Version" created in 2012.[2]
Exhibitions[edit]
In the 2017 his artworks made with waste and scrap were exhibited in the “La Fabbrica del Vapore” Contemporary Art Museum of Milan.[3] In the 2016 art exhibitions were held in Louvre (Paris), Vatican and in Lugano (CH) during an international event supported by the President of the Italian Republic, by the Foreign Ministry and by Italian Embassy.[4] His artwork "The Embrace – B Version", a tapestry, oil on canvas, was entirely done with a spatula. The embrace is understood by the author in the strict sense between a man and a woman, in an enlarged sense between people of two different colors. The themes of anti-Semitism and racism are reconciled for Cesare Catania in a hug.[5] He also participated in 7th Biennale of International Art in Montecarlo in 2016.[6] His work "L'abbraccio", a tapestry, oil on canvas, entirely made with a spatula was presented at the occasion of the "Italian Language Week in the world" held in Lugano, at the Helvetic Institute. The event was sponsored by the Consulate General of Italy.[7][8]
He is sometimes known as the "Modern Leonardo Da Vinci".[9][10]
