Chandigarh to Shimla Trains
Chandigarh is one of the most modern and well-planned cities of India. It serves as the capital city of two of the northern Indian states of Punjab and Haryana. Shimla is a beautiful hill station and the capital city of Himachal Pradesh that shares it borders with Punjab and Haryana on its west. There are two ways to get to Shimla from Chandigarh. One can either travel by taxi or take a train.[1]
There are no direct trains from Chandigarh to Shimla as the broad-gauge trains run only up to Kalka. It is the last station that one can reach by a broad-gauge train. After Kalka, one needs to travel by special narrow-gauge trains also referred as toy trains.[2]
Broad–gauge trains are the normal trains that run all over India, while there is another category of narrow-gauge trains that runs between a few stations.

All trains except SNSI KLK SUP EXP (Train No: 22455) is available all seven days of the week. SNSI KLK SUP EXP runs only on two days including Wednesday and Sunday.
