Charles I. Bryant

Charles Irving Bryant, FAIA (1929-2005) was an African American Architect, active in Washington, DC beginning the 1960s until the early 2000s. Bryant was born in Palmetto, Georgia and moved with his family to DC in 1939. He graduated from Howard University with a Bachelors in Architecture in 1954.[1]
In 1965, he founded a firm under his name, and was later joined by his brother Robert, and Melvin Mitchell. The firm designed a number of prominent projects in early Home Rule DC, particularly the campus of the University of the District of Columbia and Dunbar High School.[2]
