Charles Paul Trippy III (September 2, 1984) is a vlogger and internet personality. He holds the Guiness world record for most consecutive days Vlogging of 3,653 days.[2] Charles is a Youtube pioneer, being one of the first to popularize Vlogging, which is now a popular medium on the platform.[3] He is also the bass player in american rock band We The Kings.[4]
Early life and education[edit]
Charles Trippy was born to parents Charles 'Chaz' Trippy II and Marlene Trippy. He grew up in Bradenton, Florida along with his younger sister, Melissa Trippy. He is of Sicilian Italian, German, and Native American descent. His father, played percussion in the Gregg Allman Band when he was younger and often toured with them.[5] Charles attended Lakewood Ranch High School[6] and later attended the University of South Florida and majored in communications.
Career and accomplishments[edit]
Charles Trippy started his youtube channel "CTFxC" on June 16th 2008, although the daily vlogs only started on May 1st 2009. Calling his daily vlogging series "Internet Killed Television" it chronicles his daily life with his wife Allie Marie Trippy (Born Wesenberg) and their pets, friends and family.
In March of 2012 Trippy was diagnosed with a benign Oligodendroglioma brain tumour after having a seizure at the end of February. After a successful resection of the tumor it recurred in September of 2013 and was diagnosed as anaplastic oligodendroglioma brain cancer.[7] In October of 2013 Trippy started oral chemotherapy to combat the remaining 5% left after his second resection. The video of his second brain surgery received more than 3.3 million hits[8]
On April 9th 2014 Charles and Allison Speed seperated.[9]
Charles Trippy was featured prominently in the documentary film "Vlogumentary"[10] which was developed by Shay Carl.[11]
Charles & his wife Allie are life long animal lovers and were profiled by PETA on May 2 2018.[12]
On January 10th 2019 the couple announced they were expecting their first child, due for July 2019.[13]
As of the 1st of May 2019, Charles holds the Guinness World Record for the "Longest Running video blog series on YouTube by number of episodes" which goes along side his record for "most consecutive daily personal video blogs (vlogs) posted on YouTube" which he has held since 2013.[14]
