Charmelle Cofield is an American singer, songwriter, and background vocalist, best known for co-writing minor Billboard R&B chart hits "No Half Steppin'" for Sharissa, and Beyoncé's "A Woman Like Me" from the 2006 film The Pink Panther. She has also contributed to projects from Mary J. Blige, Blu Cantrell, Coko, LeToya Luckett, Tweet, and Kelly Rowland, among others. [3] Cofield has released two gospel albums, and is currently the executive director of The Good Work, a Kansas City non-profit that works to transition people from homelessness. Her son, Justus West, is a noted industry guitarist. [4] [5]
