The Chernobyl uezd (Ukrainian: Чорнобильський повіт) was one of the subdivisions of the Kiev Governorate. Formed in 1919 out of the Radomysl uezd, it served as the predecessor to the Chernobyl Raion. It was situated in the northern part of the governorate it belonged to. Its administrative centre was the town of Chernobyl.
History[edit]
Following the liquidation of the Radomysl uezd in June 1919, the Chernobyl uezd was created. In total, almost the entire northeastern part of the Radomysl uezd was incorporated into this new uezd.
On 7 March 1923, the Chernobyl uezd was liquidated, and its territory was split between newly formed raions, including the Chernobyl Raion.
