Chhyaka Lohan, Devanagari: छ्याकः लोहं, छ्याकः ल्वहं; Prachalit script:𑐕𑑂𑐫𑐵𑐎𑑅 𑐮𑑀𑐴𑑄, 𑐕𑑂𑐫𑐵𑐎𑑅 𑐮𑑂𑐰𑐴𑑄, is a rock located in the foothills of Kipoo. The rock resembles the symbol of Prithvi Narayan Shah, the Gorkhali invader. The Gorkha-Kipoo war occurred in 1767 during the Gorkha conquest of Nepal. The war is also known for its vicious fighting and intense cruelty. Shah's victorious army cut off the noses and lips of the defeated townspeople for putting up such fierce resistance.[1][2] The name means "a stone with spots" in Nepal Bhasa.[3]

Colonization Commemoration Day[edit]

Colonization Commemoration Day, also observed as Black Day by indigenous Nepalese in Nepal falls on Paush 27 (Bikram Sambat) every year, which is the birth day of Gorkhali king Prithvi Narayan Shah. It falls on 11 Jan the year of 2019. It began as a counter-celebration held on the same day as the Nepal's federal holiday of National Unity Day, which honors Gorkhali invader Prithvi Narayan Shah. On this day, people spit on Chhyaka Lohan remembering the sorrow given by Prithvi Narayan Shah. The rock is symbolism of Prithvi Narayan Shah because he slipped down the rock during his first invasion in Nepal. People also light dewa(butterlamps) to remember their ancestors who died in the battle.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10]
