The Nepal Health Research Council (NHRC) is a national body that was established to provide scientific and high-quality health research in Nepal. The NHRC's headquarters is located in Kathmandu, and it was first started as the Nepal Health Research Committee in 1982 under the Ministry of Health, chaired by the Secretary of Health. In 1991, it was upgraded to the Nepal Health Research Council.[1]
It publishes indexed journal called the Journal of the Nepal Health Research Council.[2]
NHRC also acts as a national regulatory body for maintaining technical and ethical standards of health research within the country.[3]
